This joke (and the next few finishing out the fourth shot) gave me a lot of trouble. during this shot I attempted a few strips that were “topical” but I don’t believe they fit with the tone of the strip. So. 5th shot will most likely not have anything like that. I was on the fence about releasing any of these (there’s still a cinco de mayo joke from last year that has never seen daylight) for various reasons. Instead of shelving them, I decided to bang them out and get on with it.

I love that Get Bent has been so organic since I started it. I’ll keep trying new things. New types of gags. Next shot I’m going to shift my focus the craft of the comic itself. I generally concentrate on the writing/joke more than the art, but the strip is lesser for it. I’m excited. Keep reading. Tell your friends.
